Drawdown, firm rules and payouts
Drawdown room, the payout cycle and payouts per prop account, and all of them on one page.
Evals, funded accounts and your own capital all live under Accounts. For each prop account Tradelyst shows how much drawdown room is left, how far the cycle is from the profit target and when the next payout window opens — and adds the accounts up into one portfolio.
Prop firm or personal
Every trading account has a type, set when you create it and changeable in its settings (Edit account, or the pencil on its card). Prop firm is an evaluation or funded account: it gets a phase, firm rules and payouts, and counts in the prop-firm totals. Personal / live is your own capital and stays out of those totals; its trades and analytics are the same. Accounts without a broker connection work as prop accounts too — only the drawdown cushion needs live broker data.
The accounts list
- ▸One card per account — phase or “Personal”, cash balance, P&L against the starting balance, the drawdown cushion and, for a prop account with rules, the cycle bars — with, where the rules have a daily loss limit, what today's session may still lose, or Paused · daily loss limit once it is reached. Filter by All, Prop firm or Personal.
- ▸Prop-firm portfolio — total cash balance, cumulative P&L, this year's payouts and how many accounts are in eval, funded or finished. It counts the prop accounts with a broker connection and a starting balance, and says which it left out.
- ▸Hide names masks account names across the whole app, for screen sharing.
Drawdown cushion
For accounts synced through Tradovate (NinjaTrader prop accounts included) the firm's drawdown rule comes from the broker: the card shows the floor, the account's peak and the DD cushion — the dollars left above the floor. It is based on the cash balance at the last sync; open P&L isn't included. When the cushion falls under 25 % of the firm's allowance the card shows Approaching DD floor.
Where there is no live figure the card says why: a manual account (no broker), no drawdown rule reported by the broker (TopstepX accounts read this way), or the broker couldn't be reached — then the last known state may be stale.
Drawdown email
Settings → Notifications → Email me when an account nears its drawdown floor, on by default. You get an email the first time in a trading session an account's cushion drops under 25 %, naming the account, the dollars left and the floor — and another only if it climbs back out and drops again.
Firm rules
In the account's settings, under Firm rules: the phase (in evaluation, funded, blown, cashed out / closed), the profit target per cycle, the max drawdown allowance, the daily loss limit, minimum trading days (optionally with a minimum $ per day), the consistency rule and the payout cadence in days.
- ▸Set from the account name. Where the broker account name gives the firm, plan, phase and size (Lucid, Tradeify, Topstep Combines on TopstepX), the rules are filled in from the firm's published figures and marked as set automatically. Check them against your firm dashboard and press Looks right — confirm, or change and save them. A daily loss limit bought with a Topstep Combine, or one a Tradeify Growth or Lightning account comes with, is filled in with them.
- ▸Proposed. Apex, Take Profit Trader and Topstep Express Funded names carry no size, so their rules are offered as a proposal: pick the size, and Use these values fills them in for you to save. An Express Funded Account starts at a $0 balance, so its starting balance is $0, not its size — the proposal never fills the size in there. An account you name after its Phidias account ID (PP-…) gets its rules proposed the same way, size included. MyFundedFutures Rapid and Builder names carry no size either; their sim-funded accounts start at $0 too. FundedNext Futures names say only whether the account is a challenge or funded, so you enter its rules yourself.
- ▸Max drawdown. Where the broker reports a rule, its trailing floor is the one that counts and your figure is only the fallback. On other accounts your figure sets a fixed floor at the starting balance minus the allowance.
- ▸Daily loss limit. How much one session may lose before the firm closes your positions and ends trading until the next session. Leave it empty if the account has none. Topstep says it in the account name, and Tradeify Growth and Lightning and MyFundedFutures Builder 100K/150K come with one — for an Apex EOD or a Tradeify Select Daily account, enter it yourself.
Payout cycle
The Payout cycle card on the account's page tracks the current cycle — from your last logged payout, or from the first trade before there is one:
- ▸Today's session against the daily loss limit, where the account has one: how much is left, and once it is reached, that trading is paused until the next session opens — the account isn't failed. It counts closed trades only; the firm counts open positions too.
- ▸Profit this cycle against the profit target.
- ▸Trading days against the minimum, counted by CME session day (17:00 → 16:00 Chicago time, so an evening trade counts toward the next day).
- ▸The consistency rule: your best day as a share of the cycle's profit, and how much more profit on other days it needs to get under the limit.
- ▸When the next payout window opens, or since when it has been open.
- ▸Badges when you reach the target or the minimum days, break the consistency rule, string green days together or set a new personal best.
Log a payout… on the same card records the date and the net amount. It starts a new cycle and appears in the portfolio's payouts. The account's balance drops by the payout, but the peak the trailing floor is measured from doesn't — like at the firm, your room shrinks by what you withdraw.
The account page
- ▸Equity curve with the firm's drawdown floor drawn underneath — from the broker's end-of-day balances where available, otherwise rebuilt from your trades, less logged payouts.
- ▸Daily P&L for the last 60 trading days, and — where the broker reports a drawdown rule — a heatmap of how much of it each session used.
- ▸A performance summary, and a link to the account's trades.
